Anibattle – concert by Artur Maćkowiak & Szymon Szwarc featuring a Visual Animation battle between the Academy of Fine Arts in Gdańsk and the University of Arts in Poznań

Two-day workshop on animation for mapping performances, during which students from the Academy of Fine Arts in Gdańsk and the University of the Arts in Poznań will take on the role of mentors, sharing their knowledge and experience with young participants from the Bydgoszcz Art High School.

The goal of the workshop is to introduce students to mapping technology and creating animations synchronized with music. However, its primary purpose is to foster a creative exchange of energy between three artistic communities, three cities, and two fields of art.

The animations created during the workshop will be showcased in Bydgoszcz as part of an audiovisual walk "EchoLight."

The entire process will be overseen by faculty members from the University of the Arts in PoznańMiłosz Margański and Paulina Wyrt, as well as from the Academy of Fine Arts in GdańskWeronika Dziurdziewicz, Kamila Okrutny, Adam Przybysz, and Robert Turło.

Szymon Szwarc / swrcfx - Guitarist, composer, producer, and sound engineer. He has played in bands such as Jesień, Wesele, and Rozwód, and performs as a producer and electronic artist under the name swrcfx. He has collaborated as a musician, producer, or dub FX master with projects including |ALA||MEDA|, Atol Atol Atol, Zdrój, Przepych, Młyn, SKI, Toruńska Orkiestra Improwizowana, R. Iwański, Drogi Krajowe, Wstyd, Suczy Napar, and others. He lives in Toruń.

Artur Maćkowiak - Musician and cultural animator. He performs solo, with the band you.Guru, and in various short-lived music projects. Previously, he was part of Something Like Elvis, Innercity Ensemble, and Potty Umbrella. His music spans out on the broadly defined realm of guitar-driven sounds, enriched with a strong dose of experimentation, electronics, ambient, and improvisation. He has shared the stage with artists such as Fred Frith, Toshinori Kondo, Fugazi, The Ex, Nomeansno, and Acid Mothers Temple. He has released five solo albums: Take Away (2012), Before the Angels Play Their Trumpets (2013), If It’s Not Real (2015), Iconic Rapture (2017) and Secret Carnival (2022). He is the artistic director of the Fonomo Music & Film Festival.

The event "Anibattle," as part of the 14th IAFF Animocje, is organized within the UNESCO Creative City of Music program in Bydgoszcz.
