Populary thought public presentation at Émile Reynaud's Optical Theatre (which took place on 1892, October 28th) isn't the only beginning of modern animation. In fact, it is in gloomy caves, scattered all over Spain and France, that first „artists” attempted to study phenomenon of a movement. Later on, iranian basins, Egyptian murals, magic lanterns and a large amount of optical toys prevailed over cave painting. Before it all evolved into Disney animations a very long way had to be gone through.
Workshops will concentrate on the evolution of animation presenting most popular animation technics, optical toys, analysing the oldest films and their creators and origins of the „movement creation” - „animō" idea. Lecture will be completed with film excerpts, photos and drawings.
