Masterclass with Alexandra Ramires. BAP backbone - the anatomy of ananimation collective.
BAP animation studio is made upof a group of authors who are exclusively involved in making animated films.This masterclass will explain how this collective was established, and how ithas been treading its own path for over ten years of existence. There will alsobe a brief talk about the production processes of the films Água Mole (dir.Alexandra Ramires & Laura Gonçalves) and ELO (dir. Alexandra Ramires).
Alexandra Ramires has been working in animation since 2009. In 2013 shearrived in Porto to work in the animation studios of the production companyBando Á Parte, which has become a collective - BAP Animation Studio. She is afounder and a member of this collective. In her professional career she hasworked on several international award-winning films. Água Mole (2017) is herfirst animation movie co-directed with Laura Gonçalves, it was present atfestivals in Cannes and Toronto. ELO is her first film as a solo director. Itpremiered in 2020 and received several awards.
