Objectives of the workshop:
Each participant will create their own character and a series of short animated movies involving it.
For who?
No experience in animation is required. However, it is useful to know the basics of Adobe Photoshop, which will allow you to freely draw and work with layers. Are drawing skills necessary? No.
We invite people over the age of 16.
What does the workshop look like?
Each day will begin with a general introduction, providing the participants with a handful of knowledge and inspirations to perform their tasks. Prepared this way, they will get to the practical part. Supported by the instructor, they will search for their original characters, their movements and adventures; step by step, from idea to animation. The practical part is individual work with technical and artistic supervision on the basis of consultation.
How to prepare?
The participants should be equipped with their own tools, such as a laptop or iPad. In both cases, it’s essential to have a tablet/pen for digital drawing and appropriate software. We will work in the technique of drawing animation.
Participants using their laptops, please install Photoshop*. Participants using their iPads, please install Rough Animator software.
*Free trial version of Photoshop can be downloaded if you log into the ID ADOBE website. Please note that the free trial period is 7 days.

Magdalena Pilecka
Magdalena Pilecka – She believes that if you really want something... you can just draw it for yourself. She began her experience with animation in the studio of prof. Daniel Szczechura, where she created her graduation film “Weed”. In 2016, she debuted in Munk Studio with „Piórnikt”. An author of original animated movies, music videos, visualizations and miniseries „DINO or something”. Since 2020, she has run a studio of animation at Polish-Japanese Academy of Information Technology in Warsaw. Her movies are full of grotesque, absurd and characters which she calls her imaginary friends. Supposedly, she always carries around her camera and crayons.
