Karol Szafraniec

Karol Szafraniec - Cultural and film studies scholar, film educator, lecturer, and festival selector for the Animator International Animated Film Festival. Member of the Film Educators’ Team. Host of the "Audio/Wizualny" podcast. Regular collaborator with institutions such as MCK SOKÓŁ in Nowy Sącz and the Mazovia Institute of Culture in Warsaw. Head and presenter at the DKF KOT Film Discussion Club. Co-creator of the Youth Film Academy in Nowy Sącz. Double laureate of the National Film Presenters Competition (2011) (Grand Prize and Audience Award). Curator and originator of interdisciplinary cultural events that combine art, music and film, as well as initiatives promoting Polish cinema (including animation) abroad (South Korea, Czech Republic). In addition to film, he is passionate about music (including opera lectures), visual arts, and popular culture. Co-author of the educational book "Elementarz polskiej kultury" (The ABCs of Polish Culture, Warsaw 2020). His publications appear, among others, in “Contemporary Lynx”.
